Plain-language terms for the weekly alert subscription.

The service

Citation Atlas sends a weekly email, with a CSV, of OSHA citations newly published in public U.S. Department of Labor data and of inspections opened recently, for the states and filters you choose. The All states plan also includes API access to the same weekly records. Citation Atlas is independent and is not affiliated with DOL or OSHA.

The data

Records are republished from public government data as of each weekly build, about a month behind citation issuance. Citations are allegations and proposed penalties until they become final orders, and they may be contested, reduced or withdrawn. The data can contain errors. We provide it as-is, without warranty, and it is not legal advice. Check the linked osha.gov record before relying on any entry. Don't use the alerts to harass anyone or to make decisions about individual people.

Free plan

The free plan covers one state and sends the top 10 newly published citations each week after you confirm your email address. We may change or end the free plan at any time. It has no CSV, contact data or API.

Contact data

Paid alerts, CSVs and the API may include phone numbers and websites from public business listings (Overture Maps Places), matched to establishments by name and address. Matches can be wrong, and listed phone numbers may be mobile numbers. You are solely responsible for how you contact anyone, including compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the National Do Not Call Registry, CAN-SPAM and state telemarketing laws. Don't use autodialed, prerecorded or text-message outreach without the consent those laws require. Contact data is provided under the source licenses listed on the data licenses page, which travel with it.

Billing and cancellation

Plans renew monthly at the price shown when you subscribe. The State plan is charged per state. Payments are processed by Stripe. You can change plans or cancel any time from the billing link on your preferences page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and alerts continue until then. We don't give refunds for partial months, except where the law requires it. Adding states mid-month is charged right away, prorated to your billing date. If we change prices, we'll email you at least 30 days in advance.

Your use

The alerts and CSVs are for you and your organization's internal use. Don't resell them or republish them in bulk. API keys are personal to the subscription.
